Second International Workshop – Conference – Enlarged Meeting of the Russian Organizing Committee of the World Mining Congress

We have the honor of notifying you about the holding of a representative international forum “Coal in the Global Economy”, which will run from 4-7 May 2011 in the city of Kemerovo.

The organizers: Russian Organizing Committee of the World Mining Congress, the Administration of Kemerovo Oblast, the Ministry of Energy of Russia with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation and the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

At the forum “Coal in the Global Economy”, the following key issues will be discussed:

  • • The role and place of coal in the fuel balance of countries;
  • • The development of coal-powered generation, including on the basis of environmentally sound technologies;
  • • The deep processing of coal and the receipt of high value added products;

Analysis of innovative coal technologies application experience in Europe

Delegation of ROC-WMC in middle December has visited European companies with the aim of detailed analysis of innovative (including clean coal) technologies application experience.

Meeting with delegates from Australian Coal industry

Consortium “Coal of Russia” experts on invitation of Australian Embassy in Moscow took part in the meeting with Australian Coal industry delegates. Representatives of large and medium size companies suppliers of mining equipment, resource companies and research institutes were among the delegates. Consortium Coal of Russia was represented by General Director CMRI Kovalchuk A.B., General Director of Rosinformugol Skryl A.I. and Director on Strategy and Development of Consortium “Coal of Russia” Shelukhin I.S.

Non-Commercial Partnership for support of mining industries development is proud to announce signing of Mutual Efforts Agreement and formation of Consortium “Coal of Russia”. Besides Non-Commercial Partnership Consortium also includes such companies leaders in coal industry of Russia as CMRI, Rosinformugol and Academy of Mining Sciences of Russia.

Analysis of innovative coal technologies application experience in Europe

Delegation of ROC-WMC in middle December has visited European companies with the aim of detailed analysis of innovative (including clean coal) technologies application experience.

A representative from the WMC Russian Organizing Committee presented a report at the 5th All-Russia Mining Forum

On October 1, 2009 Igor Sergeevich Shelukhin, the Director on Strategy and Development of the Russian Organizing Committee of the World Mining Congress presented a report «Marketing factors of a coal project» at Minex 09 forum that was held in Moscow for the fifth time. The forum well-known among mining industry professionals. It is held annually and gathers over 1000 participants and 75 presenters.

A familiarization visit to China

In mid-October 2009 a delegation from the Russian Organizing Committee will visit the People’s Republic of China. The purpose of the meeting is acquaintance with industry enterprises, visiting the World Coal Summit. Professor G.L. Krasniansky, Chairman of the Russian Organizing Committee, will present a paper.

1st Meeting of the Russian Organizing Committee in Innovations

On July 23, 2009 Professor G.L. Krasniansky, the Chairman of the Russian Organizing Committee, conducted a joint meeting of the Russian Organizing Committee and the Non-Commercial Partnership for Support of Mining Industry Development concerning innovation in Coal Processing Technologies sphere. The meeting took place in the office of the Non-Commercial Partnership in Moscow.

Professor I.A, Korobetsky, Doctor of Science in Engineering, Head of the Centre for New Coal Processing Technologies, and S.R. Islamov, Director General of Sibterno Company, presented their reports.

90th Meeting of the Organizing Committee of the World Mining Congress

On May 14, 2009 St. Petersburg State Mining Institute (technical university) hosted the 90th Meeting of the International Organizing Committee of the World Mining Congress (WMC) that was conducted with support from the Russian Organizing Committee.
